In Guatemala, our commitment to collaboration grew stronger when we recognized that our preconceived ideas about what hospitals needed held little significance without local input. Ms. Lyn Dickey, Dr. Manuel Gonzalez, and Hospitalito Atitlan played crucial roles in teaching us the significance of conducting thorough needs assessments and heeding the perspectives of local communities. While our project is ongoing, we are dedicated to developing a curriculum for pre-hospital care education and securing access to sustainable ambulance equipment.
