Tanzania

In collaboration with the Global Health Division of UCLA Emergency Medicine, we launched an initiative at the Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Center (KCMC) in Moshi, Tanzania, to strengthen the role of ultrasound in emergency care. Under the supervision of Dr. Francis Sakita, the burgeoning Emergency Medicine Residency Program is working to expand and refine ultrasound practice among its residents and faculty. The initiative combines in-person and remote training to equip clinicians with the skills and confidence to use ultrasound as a core diagnostic and procedural tool in the emergency department. Through this partnership, KCMC aims to enhance patient care and advance the development of Emergency Medicine in Tanzania.
